Master Hsin Tao at COP26

Faith and Science: Towards COP26 Address from Dharma Master Hsin Tao - YouTube

Your Holiness, beloved Pope Francis, dear religious leaders and scientists, may you be well, may you be at peace.

I am grateful for this opportunity to express my concern about and proposal on climate change:

Nature follows the principle of coexistence in diversity and interdependence. Human beings and nature are originally one body of life. Only by respecting and embracing each other, by sharing in a spirit of universal love can we live together and help each other.

The heart of human beings has turned away from the purity and goodness of the spirit, and there is no critical awareness of the fact that “we live and die together with the Earth.” Through our greed, aggression, ignorance, arrogance and doubt we have exhausted the treasures of Mother Earth and subverted the ecological balance, causing climate change and destroying the wholesome organic system of the earth.

The only way to solve the problem is to let those who are creating it awaken to the realization that the disaster is occurring right now, that no one can escape, that change has to happen immediately, that all plundering and conflict has to stop, and that we need to return to the oneness of Earth and Spirit, so that we can live sustainably, in harmony with the Earth.

I hope that all the religions can unite in helping their followers return to the spirit, lead simple lives, actively protect the eco-system, stop all wars, and use the resources instead for an education in spiritual ecology.

I want to express my profound thanks to the Vatican, Italy and Great Britain for organizing this conference, to let the spirit of compassion in faith and science rebuild our beautiful home on Earth together.

Thank you so much, everyone!
