Master Hsin Tao

Chan Space follows the teachings of the Venerable Chan Master Hsin Tao, founding abbot of Ling Jiou Mountain Buddhist Society and the Museum of World Religions and the Global Family for Love and Peace, an NGO with representation at the UN. He also established the Maha Kuala Yama Monastery and its affiliated elementary school in Naung Mong, in Myanmar.

Master Hsin Tao is known for his accomplishments in spearheading inter religious conversations aimed at reaching peace and understanding. Besides his brokering of peace among religions and promoting world peace, Master Hsin Tao has been a prominent advocate of human rights, environmental protection and Buddha-dharma, an education on life. May every being’s mind be illuminated and rediscover one’s nature.

Peace Meditation

Practicing meditation is a way to really understand oneself. We are conditioned by our surroundings and we are often lost and cannot find ourselves. Chan meditation teaches us to listen to silence and to learn how to stabilize our heart so that we can see our true self in the tranquility, while reflecting shows us how to practice meditation and to awaken our perception to true phenomena.

The real Chan helps us navigate between what it seems to be on the surface and find true happiness and wisdom. To find Peace.

Chan practice is not a religion, but an effective method to learn about ourselves and to achieve physical wellness. Dharma Master Hsin Tao developed the Peace Meditation of Ling Jiou Mountain. The Four Steps of Chan technique includes: breathing, sitting, walking and moving meditation (Gong Fa). Practicing the Four Steps and listening to the sound of silence help us to return to our origin and find our own serenity.

Master Hsin Tao

Master Hsin Tao has been advocating the Nalanda spirit as a new way of education. In order to ease tension between eastern and western cultures, to train competent missionaries in a modern age so that they contribute to social welfare, education should emphasize understanding and practice, disciplinary training and modern education.
