Introductory Taichi Short Form Course

In this introductory Taichi short form course you will learn the essence of Taichi.  The course combines seven fundamental Taichi movements along with standing and sitting meditations. You will know how to bring correct alignment, relaxation and energy flow to your body, experience body-mind balance.

This is a four day event and the classes will take place on July 22, 24, 29 and 31 between 6:30 pm and 8:00 pm. The course is limited to 6 students. Each of you will have chance to ask questions and get personal corrections.

We will start each session with standing meditation practice (Zhan Zhuang) to cultivate a sense of being grounded; establish proper body alignment and mind-body connection. During the first three sessions, we will introduce 3 Taichi principles in each class and learn how to apply them to specific forms. The focus is on practice. During the 4th session we will practice the entire seven movements and integrate all the Taichi principles. Students can experience the essence of this great art form.
