Embodied Yoga and Mindfulness Meditation
Embodied Yoga and Mindfulness Meditation for Teens and Adults. A gentle yoga class with clear instruction. Valerie guides her students in connecting to their inner body experience, breath, sensations, and anchors of support while helping students release tension, find freedom, balance and strength in the expansion of the body. Meditation frames the beginning and end of class.
Valerie has cultivated a long time practice of Mindfulness Meditation and is certified with Inward Bound Mindfulness Education for Teens, iBme. Valerie has completed trainings with Tara Brach, Jack Kornfield, Mindful Schools, the 8week MBSR training, Compassion Cultivation Training, created at Stanford University and the yoga and trauma informed training with the The Lineage Project. Valerie currently teaches awareness practices to high school students at various schools in NYC. Valerie is also a mentor with Access Mindfulness and volunteers at Pillars Recovery Center. Valerie is a Master Practitioner with Narrative 4, a national and international organization that brings people together in story exchanges to foster empathy and connection. Since 2014, Valerie has led seasonal Walking Meditation at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden and will be leading a walk this April. She lives in Brooklyn, NY with her husband and daughter.
